I had to say goodbye to my oldest kitty today. When my parents retired they took my four cats with them to Idaho. I felt they would be better off with them since they would be home most of the time and Scott and I were only home at night. It took me six weeks to get that sweet little stray to come into the house when I was a teenager. I would sit on the deck in the freezing cold for hours with food trying to get him to trust me. He had a great life and we will all miss him, but he was in pain and it was too selfish for us to keep him here for our sake. He was buried out on some land that my parents friends have next to their two kitties. My mom said he went peacefully and seemed like it was a relief for him to not be in pain anymore. It is just sad for the rest of us left here without his sweet spirit.

I'm so sorry Lissa. I remember coming over and you would be sitting on the front step trying to get him to come to you, it seemed like you were always out there. I know he was very special to you and your parents. I'm sorry for your loss.
